Jim Morrison's Ghost Turns 40 Years Old

Jim Morrison's ghost has allegedly been hanging around Paris for decades. Since Morrison died on July 3, 1971, his ghost and his legend have only grown in status. In fact, journalist Brett Meisner even claimed that he took a photo of The Doors' lead singer standing at his grave years ago, as apparent proof that he did "break on through to the other side." If he did, then he has officially been there for 40 years, since today is the 40th anniversary of his death. It is fitting that stories about his ghost has persisted for years, to add to...

Jim Moran to Alhurra: Republicans won the midterms because a lot of Americans are racist

Via the Right Scoop and Mark Tapscott of the Examiner. There’s a wrinkle here that you don’t usually find with most clips of Democrats embarrassing themselves in public — namely, a voiceover. I think Tapscott’s transcript of what Moran says is accurate (skip ahead to 3:00 for the key part) but I honestly can’t tell for sure. I’ll leave it to you guys to crank up the volume on your PCs and crowdsource it for accuracy in the comments: “It [the Republican successes in the 2010 elections] happened for the same reason the Civil War happened in the United States....

DeMINT TEA

From the day he came to Washington, originally as a Congressman, Republican South Carolina Senator Jim DeMint has never been a party lemming. But this summer, leading up to the 2010 mid-term elections, he’s taking it to another level by endorsing Tea Party favorites in primary elections against GOP-establishment candidates. And, much to the chagrin of his own party, DeMint’s choices have gone six for eight. Interestingly, the character traits guiding Jim DeMint—and rankling rank-and-file Republicans—on these endorsements are the same traits that resonate with such powerful organizations as the Gun Owners of America (GOA). In fact, Erich Pratt is...

Obama File 100 Obama's "Faith Adviser" Jim Wallis Mixes With Socialists, Radicals and "Truthers"

What could be a greater guide to a man's true nature, than those from whom he seeks spiritual counsel? President Barack Obama spent 20 years under the ministry of Rev. Jeremiah Wright on Chicago's South Side. Wright is a Marxist and admirer of the founder of "Black Liberation Theology", James Cone - who wrote in 1969 "All white men are responsible for white oppression. . . . Theologically, Malcolm X was not far wrong when he called the white man 'the devil.'"

Unsurprisingly, Rush Is Right.

You knew it was just a matter of time before partisan angles emerged about the disaster in Haiti. The Huffington Post takes umbrage at Rush Limbaugh: "Limbaugh also seems to feel we've done enough already for Haiti: 'We've already donated to Haiti. It's called the U.S. income tax.'" Obviously, when people are struggling to crawl out from rubble and with meager medical systems stretched to the breaking point, you've got to mobilize. But on the facts, Rush is right. The tale of U.S. foreign aid to Haiti is maddening, as well-meaning Americans dump more and more money to alleviate suffering,...
